Trauma And Critical Care Surgeon
Dr. Jay Johannigman holds over 25 years of experience as a surgeon, during which time he has specialized in trauma and critical care, serving thousands of patients. In addition, A United States Air Force veteran, Dr. Jay Johannigman started as a military trauma surgeon.
Rising to the rank of colonel during his Air Force career, Dr. Johannigman received numerous accolades, such as the American Association of the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Honorary Medal for Combat Surgery. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1983, where he was an honors pharmacology student and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Since 2019, Dr. Jay Johannigman has worked with the Texas-based Brooke Army Medical Center as a trauma and critical care surgeon. He is a former professor of surgery at the University of Cincinnati’s Division of Trauma & Critical Care, a position he held for a decade. In addition, he is an adjunct professor of surgery at the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine in Maryland.Education
